Put Lightwave on a Thumb Drive (for working on Computers other than your home.) PC

Hi,

  1. Install Lightwave from cd onto your computer.
  2. Locate the sentinal drivers on your dvd, copy that into your thumbdrive, just in case.
  3. When Done, move to your thumbdrive.
  4. Goto Your documents and Settigns folder in your Windows installation drive.  (in my case drive c)
  5. Look for a folder with your user name, click on it.
  6. Copy all the Lightwave files into a config folder on your thumbdrive.
  7. Goto the thumb drive.  Create a shortcut to the lightwave and modeler and put it into the root of the thumbdrive for easy access.
  8. Right click on the shortcut for Lightwave and choose properties from the menu.  Then in the Target entry box you will see the location of the Lightwave.exe file on your drive.  Add a –c(plus the path)now point it to the config folder you made in your thumbdrive.  ../config  For example:       -c:..config

Unplug your thumbdrive, Run to another computer.  Plug in your dongle, and your thumbdrive. Load up LIghtwave.

Do not goto the program file and run it.  You must use your shortcut because that has the info of where the config file is.

Hope this works for you.

I don't have a mac yet, so anyone have instructions for a mac?
