Nicktoons Contest

Nicktoons.com has a contest.  First prize is $30k and thier stuido helps promote your idea into a series.

I really wonder if some of the crap on nicktoons, was the result of this contest.  I've lately seen stuff that

makes no sense, at all.  And this is what Our kids watch.....?  You know the saying garbage in... garbage out.

I would like to make some sort of Show that teaches grammer.  So many kids today are so bad....

I read a report that, teachers are recieving reports with lol, and other web acronyms, no puncuation, etc.

This is the result of every kid having a texting ability on thier phone.

I've come up with several ideas, but grammer really is boring.  The person who can do it, will make tons of money.

New shows have popped up like Word world, and Super WHy.  If you don't have a kid you might not know why these are important

shows.  The reason, they do teach;  It's not mindless tv.  My kid suddenly realized words were made of letters, from Word world.
He gets speech therepy, and all of a suddon the teachers are like what are you doing, he's doing so much better.  I wish I could say

it was me but the shows really helped him.  So for me, I would like to do something like that.  But nicktoons isn't into education.  They have an older kid audience.  Avatar seems to be the best of thier crop.  The last season had awsome scripts. So how would you create a show that could sneak in important information, and be fun...  Maybe we have to first think what is important to teach kids.

Something to think about.

SHows that use 3d on nicktoons:

Jimmy newtron (originally done in lightwave)

Monster busters (newest slew of 3d shows. Wait this was another network.)

Avatar (mostly 3d)

tak and the Power of JUju (horrilbe and mostly stupid premise.)

Back at the barnyard. (Slapstick is sometimes really funny.  The plots are really really dumb.)
This is a show I would watch, but I turn it off when my kids are around.  (doesn't say much about me.)

questions and problems

how old do you have to be, does it have to be animated? I ask these because I'm only 11 and my computer does not have animation software ,but I am a really good artist and I have won contests for it, so it could be claymation and I know everything about electronics, so I could make my figures robotic too. Thanks it would be great if you could type a commet back on this page or e-mail me.

Wow....

Wish I had enough time to enter a contest like this. Developing something for next year (if annual?) might be worth a shot.  I like the idea of the grammar and thoughts of sesame street are running through my head.  Wasn't that primarily a vocabulary and simple math kinda learning show? I know i loved it as a child but a remake on the same concept maybe worth exploring.  Simple cast of characters, short easy to create scripts and animations.  Very produceable....  One character a month for a year and you would have a nice little cast to start. It's not like bert, ernie or big bird are exactly complicated as far as modeling goes.  Clever sure but complicated... not.
