For the Next Meeting - Learn Character Animation

Hello,

For the next meeting we will be learning about character animation.
This post will have links to Movies that are relevant to Rigging and animating a character.

So in essence, watch the movies, learn how to Rig a character, and then animate it.
We will be going over some or all of these at the next meeting.
If you don't see what your into, add a comment so we can cover it at the meeting.

This is a very important plugin called ProxyPick.  You can create handles that are easy to
locate, to animate important bones.

Grit notes from the meeting.

Capture3-22-2007-11_58_48_AM.jpg This is the Node flow of the Grit Plugin I used. Notice that I have a second Grit node that is feeding the Diffuse, This was so I can get a biege dirt map, and on top of it the darker and smaller grit.

In Preperation of the next meeting

Hi,

 

Just fyi, for the next meeting we are going to focus on the car challenge.  
I've provided links to free cars, free car textures, and check the weblinks for other free stuff. 
There are tons of free objects etc.  


If you like you can skip all that and  composite the car into some plate footage. 

The point is for us to have something to talk about at the next meeting, while

learning some of the finer points of Lightwave compositing.

We will discuss, front projection maps, alpha maps, and lighting.

 

The next meeting date will be announced soon.

Minutes for the August 2007 meeting

Thanks to Everyone who came to the August Meeting.
I guess all those emails worked, because we had 15 People come by.
Hopefully now that the Site email seems to be working Correctly We can now be more informed.

 GMD discussed his New Demo Reel, which was awesome. 
He also explianed some of the finer points, Building your images modularly. (Compositing for ultimate control.)
Oliver showed us some very interesting Projects, including a Sports Car he had to Composte into some Plate Footage.  (Which fits into our challenge, perfectly.  It was for a Forumula one Company and his comments on how he did the lighting, motion, and client politics were invaluable.)
(For those who had to leave early, We'll try and get some stills.)
